The Birmingham Botanical Gardens & Glasshouses offer a day of nature at its best. You can explore four Glasshouses ranging from Citrus plants in the Atmosphere of a Victorian Conservatory (Mediterranean House)to Tropical Plants, Tree Climbers, Fern and Water Plants in the Tropical House. Opened in 1832 you can stroll around the gardens designed by J. C. Loudon, visit the Gallery houses for an exhibition of art mainly by local artists, (Many are for sale). Enjoy your lunch in the gardens and enjoy a collection of over 200 trees and a young childrens discovery garden.
From the M6: Leave at junction 6 and take A38(M) to City Centre. Follow underpasses signposted Birmingham West to A456. At Five Ways island turn left onto B4217 (Calthorpe Road) signposted Botanical Gardens.
