Beeston Castle

Legend tells of a vast treasure hidden here by Richard II, but the real treasure at Beeston lies in its 4,000 years of history waiting to be discovered. The 13th-century castle ruin is set on a rocky summit 500 feet above the Cheshire plain offering breathtaking views from the Pennines to the mountains of Wales.
