The castle was built at the turn of the 19th century and has been the estate of a German industrial family. It is situated outside the village of Kaplice and 10 kilometer from the Czech-Austrian border. It is an impressive spot in the middle of the unspoiled Bohemian woodlands. An oasis of silence but within a short distance of the well-trodden trails of the tourist hotspots of the Czech republic in South Bohemia. It is an area with pristine forests and gentle rolling hills, habitat to deer and wild boars. Squirrels are having a field day in the hotel yard. The trout infested river Malse runs through our garden. In 2005 the castle was completely refurbished and now has a capacity of 14 comfortable rooms with a bathroom and tv set. Every room has a spectacular view. The hotel is accessible for the disabled.
